Just click the folder next to Diffuse for the screen tab in hitfilm 3d viewer and point it to the location of your unzipped it's a bit tough to write a "know-nothing" guide to 3D import in Hitfilm simply because there can be many issues that arise beyond the scope of the absolute beginner. You may need to select the image location of the "homescreen.jpg" as the filepath will be mine and not your location. Just look for the multimaterialwatch.obj in the zip folder and use that one in Hitfilm. Here is a quick split of the materials to make Hitfilm a little more happy with the original model.
Hitfilm pro 3 3d objects format software#
That is one of the downsides to free models is they don't always come out as they look in the description or they need "washing" in other 3d software to make them happy in Hitfilm. So it would need to go into blender or otherwise and fix that side of things so you could add the proper texture to the proper part of the watch. I would *love* a no-assumptions-made, beginners guide to importing 3D objects and working with Well on that model there is only one material group for the object despite it having 3 image textures in the file. If anyone wants to download it and give it a try, maybe they can tell me where I'm going wrong? I found this free model online which looks like it should be very realistic: īut when I import it, it seems very low-poly and I cannot see how in Hitfilm's interface I can get the included textures to apply. but I'm definitely finding none of the 3D modelling tutorials really help with this initial import, they all just assume everything is going to work great.Ĭase in point, I would like to make an animation featuring an Apple Watch. I don't know if it's the quality of the models I'm using, or the file type.
Hitfilm pro 3 3d objects format how to#
I'm trying to learn how to import 3D objects into Hitfilm Pro and get them looking as I'd expect, but on every youtube tutorial I can find, the 3D object always just look great the second they're imported, but in reality when I try to import 3D objects from various sites, I just end up with basic, grey lumps with no textures, etc.
